I always look forward to my newborn sessions, and I guess I could say it is the closest I get to knowing what it must be like to be a grandparent. I get to cuddle these tiny little bodies, rock them and take in all the newborn goodness that they exude. Little Colin was no exception. Hearing his adorable newborn sounds, the ones that you will only hear for a couple of months or so, was just perfect. Those faint sighs and raspy coos that extend beyond just self soothing, bring serenity to anyone who is listening closely. My newborn sessions tend to be my most peaceful ones without a doubt! Little Colin’s mom and dad, Renee and J were truly amazing to watch. They are already experts, raising two little boys in addition to their new little guy and you could tell that this family likes to have fun! I couldn’t even tell you the name of the bands in the music that they played throughout the house during our session, but it wasn’t anything remotely close to Debussy Clair de Lune! And I loved it! It worked it’s magic on Colin, who probably couldn’t be happier being in his own home. I love the level of comfort that bringing my newborn sessions right into the home of my families provides, and documenting them in their element is so inspiring.
Colin, without a shadow of a doubt in my mind, I know that your bigger brothers cannot wait for you two grow up just enough so that they can really have fun with you! I am sure that a lot of wrestling, playing tag, exploring in the woods, and rock throwing are in your future! I also know, the ultimate paradox of parenthood, that as much as your mom and dad love seeing you thrive there is still a part of them that wishes time would slow down. So make sure you sneak in some extra hugs and kisses here and there… that seems to work wonders.
